getting the panel ready..
hey ladies..
christine should have her panel in the next day or so.. so we should all be getting ready to start this little adventure..
i know Patti was having some problems trying to figure out how to do some paper-pieced patterns with this panel since its such an odd size.. so i thought i'd give you all the directions that came with the panel for getting it to a square size so you can work with it easier.. (not that you have to work with it square.. you can do whatever you want with it.. )
1.. trim the panel to.. 20 1/2 wide by 22 1/2 tall..
2.. sew a 3" x WOF strip to the side edges of the panel.. press away from the panel.. trim the excess fabric from each strip flush with the top and bottom edges of the panel..
3.. sew a 2 1/2" x WOF strip to the top and bottom edges of the panel.. press away from the panel.. trim the excess fabric from eash strip flush with the side edges of the panel..
4.. the panel with borders added, should measure 25 1/2 x 26 1/2..
then..
1.. sew a 3" x 26 1/2" strip to the side edges of the panel .. press away from the panel
2.. sew a 2 1/2" x 3" rectangle to eash end of two (2).. 2 1/2 x 25 1/2 strips.. sew these 2 units to the top and bottom edges of the panel.. press away from the panel... (this will give you cornerstones )..
3.. the quilt center should now measure 30 1/2 x 30 1/2..
ta da... it's square.. now it should be easier to work in your blocks..
nicki.. i don't have a dashboard on this blog either.. i just saved the invite christine gave us.. log in there and it lets me post to both this blog and my own.. if there is an easier way.. i don't know it ..

Shey...just as a reminder, PLEASE tell Patti that the shabby quilt is MINE...ALL MINE!!!
Ok Elaine - You win. The quilt is all yours. You obviously need it more than I do. Besides, I really don't like shabby chic anyways. No, really. Really. Shey- when you send that quilt to quiltingnewbie- could you please have it hand delivered by one of the NC fireman.
ok Patti !!!
If I can keep the fireman, you can have the quilt !! See, Im easy to get along with !!!
Now wait a minute Elaine. Let's rethink this. I'm not so sure this is a good trade off. On second thought - YOU keep the quilt!!!!!!!! I'll find an alternative way to stay hot- I mean warm.
lmfao... you guys are just toooo funny!..
